I cannot tell you how many times I have heard that sentence, mainly, or maybe only, from my mother. A lot. My whole life. I always took it to mean “learn from your mistakes.”
It wasn’t until today that I realized that it means a whole lot more than that. It means that living is learning. Nobody’s perfect. Everybody makes mistakes. I guess I thought that I would reach a certain age where I would, like, KNOW everything or something. I didn’t really realize that I would never stop learning.
But it’s true, life is just…learning. We have the brains and the abilities to do so, and this is our life. This is what we’re supposed to do. What we have to do, in order to survive.
I kind of really love this realization of mine. I feel a tad wiser. :)
